From Script to Screen: OGR 2 (First Draft)

This is my first iteration of this OGR. I'll be posting a more complete version including character designs for my second character, prop designs and influence map and my completed storyboard, as soon as possible.

    Hey Zoe,

I like the Christmas Cracker/snow globe idea - that's fun. I do think however - and this is advice everyone is getting pretty much - that you need to up the 'for animation' aspect of this project - i.e. embrace a bit more stylisation and more cartoony qualities - particularly given the comic nature of your story. I think you could afford to try something a bit more Jetsons and really get into the toonier swing of things, so...,fl_progressive,q_80,w_800/18vhtatro0znbjpg.jpg

I'm reminded of 50s Christmas decorations, you see - and wonder if it gives you a chance to stylise everything more overtly and thus give your story universe something distinct in terms of a visual concept:

In terms of character design, I think you're really missing an opportunity for something more truly characterful: take a look at these in terms of great shape-driven and exaggerated characters:

I guess I mean everything could be a bit sillier, a bit more broad and a bit more 'for animation'? There's a sense that you don't quite have a big, fun organising principle by which to focus your production design, and I'd suggest a bit of retro-ness would go a long way to help things along.

    1. Thanks Phil these definitely help, I think I was to focused on things looking too 'sciencey'and correct and started to lose the Christmas imagery and softer shapes.

Could you also recommend some good sites for voice actors I should try?
